However, in Spain the version of events given by Sport is very different, pointing to a €15m Schalke proposal compared to €12m from Sassuolo.
Galatasaray are also interested in the player who turns 23 next month.
Marlon had been ready to join Newcastle United on loan, but was denied a work permit.
That deal would’ve been €2m for a one-season loan and no option to buy.
