New Fiorentina signing Edimilson Fernandes admits he “had offers from England and Germany, but I think I’m more suited to Serie A.”
The Swiss international midfielder arrived on loan with option to buy for €8m from West Ham United.
“I could’ve gone elsewhere, as I had offers from England and Germany, but I think my qualities make me more suited to Serie A,” he told Le Matin newspaper.
The 22-year-old spent two years with the Hammers, managing 48 competitive appearances with one goal and one assist.

“I feel that I have matured after my spell in England and hope now to have a role that makes the best of my abilities.
“From the first chats with the Coach Stefano Pioli, I can tell that he is counting on me. I hope to find in Italy what I was missing in England.”
