Milan President Paolo Scaroni insists Champions League qualification is ‘the minimum’ objective every season, while he comments on the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and January reinforcements.
They host Borussia Dortmund at San Siro at 20.00 GMT.
“Milan must always be in the Champions League, that is our minimum objective every season,” Scaroni told Mediaset Infinity.
“I always feel anxious going into these games. Well, every game really, but these ones even more so.”
There are numerous injury problems yet again this evening, including Rafael Leao, Pierre Kalulu, Simon Kjaer and Noah Okafor, so reinforcements might be on the cards.
“I cannot say anything specific, but I know that Furlani is focused on January. The financial sustainability we have earned allows us to look for certain opportunities.”
There are big plans for the choreography in the stands, which is said to cover several sections of the Stadio Meazza and three tiers.
It raises more questions over whether Milan and Inter will build their own arenas outside the city or try to reconstruct the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
“Unfortunately, it is difficult to make plans in Italy. We hope that we will start construction next year, so the stadium is ready for the 2028-29 season.”
There are also plans off the field for the Rossoneri, who are trying to bring Ibrahimovic back to the club in a new directorial role.
“I think he is going to sit next to Gerry Cardinale tonight, as they have an excellent rapport. We are all waiting to see what Ibra will do, both for Milan and RedBird. I think Cardinale’s presence gives a contribution to understand that Ibrahimovic’s future is at Milan.”
