Former Parma Coach Nevio Scala has expressed his ‘disbelief and disgust’ at the situation which leaves the club on the verge of bankruptcy.

The Ducali have not paid their players all season, and after Sunday’s match with Udinese was called off, it is not clear whether they will fulfil their remaining fixtures.

Scala spent six years on the Tardini bench, winning a UEFA Cup, a Cup Winners’ Cup and the Coppa Italia.

“I’m in disbelief and I’m disgusted,” Scala told Radio Rai.

“I can’t understand what’s happened, the club has been excluded from European competition, with the loss of millions [of Euros] which could have potentially solved the problem until the end of the season.

“Hopefully this situation will be adressed with determination and seriousness.

“Parma cannot disappear from the world of football.”
