Sassuolo starlet Hamed Junior Traore spoke about his career plans and his openness to moving abroad in the future.

The 22-year-old Ivorian winger is one of the most talented players in the Neroverdi squad and was heavily linked with a move away from the club in the summer, with teams like Milan and Leeds United both keen to pick him up before he suffered a metatarsal fracture. Traore recently returned to action, playing 25 minutes of Sassuolo’s 2-1 loss to Atalanta last weekend.

Speaking to La Gazzetta di Modena, Traore discussed his plans for the future and the possibility of moving abroad.

“A possible jump to a big team depends only on me, at the moment I am only focused on Sassuolo and I am happy to be here.

“If a call from abroad were to arrive, I wouldn’t mind, the leagues best suited to my characteristics would be the Bundesliga or the Premier League.”

Last season, the 22-year-old Traore made 32 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 1840 minutes. In that time, he scored eight goals and provided four assists, being an importuning attacking figure for Sassuolo.

The Ivorian winger is contracted to the Neroverdi until 2024, making a move next summer likely should he not pen a new deal.
