Sassuolo’s director general, Giovanni Carnevali, reiterates that Inter haven’t made a bid for Domenico Berardi.

The forward continues to be linked with the Nerazzurri, despite Coach Eusebio Di Francesco stating that he’ll stay and Neroverdi President Giorgio Squinzo confirming he’s promised to Juventus.

“An Inter bid for Berardi?” Carnevali considered, speaking to Sky.

“Nothing ever arrived. We have clear ideas and we won’t change them overnight, otherwise we’d have to review the squad every day.

“I honestly don’t know what’s in his head, but he said to us a month ago that he wanted to continue his experience at Sassuolo, above all because we’re playing in Europe.

“We’ve made the decision, we could have got some major revenue but we’re happy to have him in the team again.

“To deal with the important commitments we have we need to strengthen the team and Berardi is a key part of that.”

Full-back Sime Vrsaljko will join Atletico Madrid, and Carnevali confirms a replacement is being sought.

“We’re working with Atletico for Vrsaljko and someone must come to replace him. Sassuolo will continue our policy of youth and Italians, although in this case someone who isn’t Italian could come in.”
