According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Zinedine Zidane’s shock exit from Real Madrid could trigger a domino effect involving Sarri, Cannavaro and Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri.

The newspaper explains that Pochettino is in ‘pole position’ to replace Zidane, freeing up Sarri to take over Tottenham.

The 58-year-old appeared to be set for the Chelsea job, having parted ways with Napoli, but the Blues are not prepared to pay his €8m release clause.

If that does not bear fruition, La Gazzetta believes Madrid could turn to Cannavaro, who played for Los Blancos between 2006 and 2009, winning two Liga titles.

The 2006 World Cup winner is currently in charge of Guangzhou Evergrande, although the Chinese side are down in fifth, despite the side having won the last seven domestic titles on offer.
