Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has revealed that John Terry could return to the club as part of his coaching staff.

Terry saw a switch to Sporting CP collapse and rejected a move to Massimo Carrera’s Spartak Moscow, but Sarri confirmed he was open to the idea of the Blues’ former captain heading home.

“I don’t know now the situation. I’m talking about one week ago. Chelsea is his home, of course,” the former Napoli Coach said at a Press conference.

“He told me another thing. He told me he wants to play. I don’t know. I have to speak to him.

“For sure he will be a point of reference for me, for everybody here [if he returned]. It’s up to him.

“If he wants to play for another season I think it’s right he tries to play. If he wants to help us, I’m very, very happy.”
