Maurizio Sarri was “proud” of Empoli’s performance after holding local rivals Fiorentina to a 1-1 draw.
“We put in a good performance, at times suffering under pressure, at others causing more problems for our opponents,” Sarri told Rai Sport.
“The game was wide open to any result, so we could’ve won as well as lost. That is a positive sign, as we must be very proud to have come to Florence and played on level terms.

“I am happy for the result and all the fans who care so much about this derby. It is also our sixth positive result in a row, which shows we are consistent. I do think we could’ve had a few more points, though.”
