The Partenopei welcome the Ukrainian side to Stadio San Paolo tomorrow, looking to take another step toward the Last 16.

“Tomorrow we’ll think about getting a result,” Sarri told reporters in his pre-match Press conference.

“We won’t make any calculations though, because in almost every case it’ll be decided on the final day.

“We’re facing a team which hasn’t been lucky in the Champions League but have lost narrowly and we know it will be difficult. We can only think about our performance.

“They’re strong and solid and they’ve shown that in this group. Away from home they often pick up results, they have good players including youngsters, and they’re a difficult side to face.

“In Lisbon they lost 1-0 and in Istanbul they missed a penalty which would have earned them a deserved draw. So it won’t be easy.

“They have strong youngsters, which will be neither an advantage or a disadvantage. Players are strong or weak, not young or old.

“Should we only be worried about Andriy Yarmolenko? No. He’s a great player, but they also have a strong midfield with great quality in the shape of [Serhiy] Sydorchuk, [Serhiy] Rybalka and [Denys] Harmash.”

Sarri was asked whether the win at Udinese was a “rebirth” for his side, but bristled at the suggestion.

“The team never died. We didn’t play badly in Turin [against Juventus], with Besiktas we created a lot so that goes to show you that the team never died.

“Then you have to add the results though, we suffered strange and unfortunate errors. The lads did well to overcome this period and get back to winning.

“I’ll confirm what I’ve said before, the team has to work on defence. If we’d conceded three or four goals less we’d have more points.

“It’s also true that we’ve conceded on avoidable errors like backpasses.”

Manolo Gabbiadini has been sidelined with injury, could he return to lead the line tomorrow?

“He returned to the group yesterday,” Sarri confirmed.

“We’ll see over these last two training sessions because he’s coming off two weeks of inaction. From the point of view of his injury, he’s over it.”
