Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri gave Inter advice ahead of their Champions League clash with Tottenham. “Contain them in the first 30 minutes.”

The former Napoli Coach suffered his first Premier League defeat on Saturday, falling 3-1 at Wembley to Spurs.

“Perhaps it was the worst Chelsea performance of the season, but it was also in a stadium that I don’t like. There is an enormous distance from the crowd, so you don’t get the usual atmosphere of an English arena,” Sarri told Sky Sport Italia.

“Perhaps it was the worst Chelsea performance of the season, but it was also in a stadium that I don’t like. There is an enormous distance from the crowd, so you don’t get the usual atmosphere of an English arena,” Sarri told Sky Sport Italia.

“We played badly against a strong opponent.”

Inter will be at Wembley on Tuesday evening for the Champions League and a loss here could blow the group wide open.

As things stand, Barcelona are the leaders on 10 points, followed by Inter on seven, Tottenham Hotspur four and PSV Eindhoven one.

“Inter are a good team, so I just hope they don’t have the same initial approach that we did,” noted Sarri.

“It’s important to contain them in the first 30 minutes, as that is when Spurs are really dangerous. Inter must also avoid losing possession in their own half, because when it comes to counter-attacks, Tottenham are one of the most effective teams in Europe.”
