Davide Santon will fly out to join Inter in the USA, after his proposed move to Napoli collapsed.

The full-back was close to joining the Partenopei on a permanent transfer, but after an issue was reportedly flagged-up in his medical the Vesuviani cancelled the deal.

That came shortly after a proposed move to Sunderland had also fallen-through, with the issue on that occasion thought to be a disagreement about wages.

Now Sky reports that Santon will fly out to join Roberto Mancini’s squad in the USA, having been declared fit by the medical staff.

Napoli’s concerns are thought to relate to meniscus surgery while Santon was at Newcastle United, but it will not affect his ability to play.

Given the club have tried to sell him twice, it’s unlikely Santon can win a place in Mancini’s side, but he could prove his fitness for other clubs.
