Siena’s Franco Brienza is convinced that boss Giuseppe Sannino will do well with Palermo next season.

Sannino will move to Sicily this summer after keeping the Tuscan side up during his first ever Serie A campaign.

“Sannino is the right man for that team,” the midfielder told the Giornale di Sicilia. “I’m certain that the city of Palermo will fall in love with him.

“He’s a tactically alert tactician, especially when it comes to the defensive phase. He also has the ability to unite a changing room.”

Palermo had three bosses this season – Stefano Pioli, Devis Mangia and Bortolo Mutti.

Brienza knows Palermo well given his past there as a player.

Siena conceded 45 goals in the top flight this season, while Palermo let in 62. Only Novara and Genoa had worst defensive records.
