Siena Coach Sannino was sent off during his team’s hard-fought 2-1 Coppa Italia fourth round win at Cagliari” data-scaytid=”9″>Cagliari. The match report and subsequent disciplinary hearing stated that the offence Sannino was given a one-match suspension for was ‘uttering a blasphemous term’.

However, Sannino is keen to put the record straight with regards the finer technicality of the misdemeanour.

“I accept the disqualification for the Coppa Italia because at Cagliari I used inappropriate words, but not the reason because I am sure I have not uttered a blasphemous expression.

“I think, in the confusion of these moments, I have been assigned a term that is not mine and that I regret.”

As a result of the ban, Sannino will now miss Siena’s Coppa Italia quarter-final clash with Palermo, scheduled for Thursday December 13.
