Harry Winks’ lengthy absence could be finally coming to an end as the Sampdoria midfielder spent most of his training session with the rest of the group, meaning his fitness is improving.

The Tottenham loanee still has to make an appearance for the Blucerchiati, as he underwent ankle surgery in November after the previous conservative therapy failed to bring results.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Winks completed a whole training session and appears to be on the way to recovery just like his teammate Abdelhamid Sabiri, who has been ruled out of Sampdoria’s last four Serie A matches.

The 26-year-old English player joined Sampdoria last august in a loan deal, after amassing 128 Premier League appearances with Tottenham across six seasons.

The Blucerchiati started the new year in a nice fashion, as they picked up a 2-1 win at Sassuolo in their first match of 2023 after four consecutive Serie A defeats.
