After signing Federico Macheda, Sampdoria are on the verge of completing another swoop for Barcelona teenage talent Mauro Icardi, said his agent.
The Argentine striker turns 18 next month and has impressed in the Barca youth academy.
“For now there is nothing official between Sampdoria and Barcelona, so we cannot comment on the financial details,” agent Abian Morano told Spanish newspaper Sport.

“Mauro has not completed his footballing maturity the way that Barca expected, as his characteristics are no longer suitable for the Barcelona tactical system. This is why we have decided to do what is best for him.
“The best option is to join a club like Sampdoria, who have decided to bet on him.”
Icardi moved to Barcelona when he was still only 16 and has an Italian passport.
