Sampdoria goalkeeper Angelo Da Costa says his team cannot afford to let their guard down following their 3-0 loss to Atalanta.

The Blucerchiati had won their previous two matches before the defeat in Bergamo and the shot-stopper admitted complacency may have been a problem yesterday.

“We cannot afford to forget that we are not all that,” Da Costa said to Il Corriere Mercantile.

“With concentration and humility we managed to get ourselves out of a bad situation, so this defeat is a warning to us to not throw away the good things we have done up until now.

“But it is also true that it is dangerous to lower your guard.

“Without maximum concentration you risk having days like we did yesterday.”
