Sampdoria are reportedly very close to agreeing terms with free agent Hatem Ben Arfa, while goalkeeper Rafael is going to Reading FC.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the negotiations over personal terms are progressing very well and Samp met with Ben Arfa after a friendly against Monaco.

The 32-year-old forward is currently a free agent after his contract with Rennes expired.

Last season, the France international contributed nine goals and six assists in 41 competitive games.
