According to reports in Italy, former Inter and Sampdoria striker Eder could return to Italy as Salernitana have opened talks to sign him.

Sky Sport Italia reports the 35-year-old wants to return to Serie A and new Salernitana sporting director Walter Sabatini has opened talks to bring him back to Italy.

Eder has played with Empoli, Brescia, Cesena, Frosinone, Sampdoria and Inter and has scored 60 goals in 245 appearances in Serie A.

He is under contract with Brazilian club Sao Paulo until December 2022, but Salernitana hope to sign him in January.

Meantime, their striker Simy is in talks with Serie B side Monza.

Salernitana sit rock bottom of the Serie A table with 10 points in 21 matches.
