Today the Italian international’s agent warned that they would have to lower their asking price, and it appears that remains the stumbling block.

Both Corriere dello Sport and Gianluca Di Marzio’s website report that Southampton still want to sign Gabbiadini, but are only offering around €16m.

It’s thought that contact between the two clubs has continued today, and Corriere dello Sport believes that a compromise of €18m plus performance-related bonuses is possible.
