Inter technical co-ordinator Walter Sabatini believes it is “wrong and unfair” to blame Suning Group for the club’s poor run of results.

Suning has been criticised for its lack of spending and perceived distance, but Sabatini insisted the conglomerate could not be held accountable for Inter’s slump, while affirming Luciano Spalletti was still “the best man” to take the Nerazzurri into the Champions League.

“To blame Suning is wrong or, at least, unfair,” he told ANSA.

“FFP aside, they’ve never influenced our choices. The sole responsibility for the team’s results lies with those who are in charge of them. I take on a big part of it.

“Spalletti? He remains the best man for the job in any case. As for our objective of the Champions League, we need to put all the needless bluster and various digressions to one side.

“The time has come for synthesis. No-one can escape.”
