“Garcia is not at risk, we are on track. We’re disappointed with the Barcelona game, not having put in a performance at the right level and disappointing our fans, but we have the duty to rebuild our confidence and follow our targets.
“It is a total invention to say Garcia could be sacked. We will not remove the Coach. We go forward together, especially as the results are good overall and I’d hate for people to forget that. Garcia deserves Roma.”
Wojciech Szczesny irritated supporters and teammates when he said Barcelona were “wonderful to watch” as he picked the ball out of his net six times. Today he is dropped in favour of Morgan De Sanctis.
“We are not penalising a player because he expressed an opinion on Barcelona’s performance. De Sanctis and Bogdan Lobont are thoroughly reliable, so with players of this quality a change can happen.”
