TMW claim that Manchester City would look to make a move for Inter star Nicolo Barella should they sell Bernardo Silva.

The report details how the Citizens are currently negotiating the Portuguese winger’s possible sale with Paris Saint-Germain, setting an €100m price tag on the 28-year-old, who has two years left on his contract.

Should they complete Silva’s sale, Manchester City would then turn their attention to Barella, despite the fact that they clearly fill different roles on the pitch. Pep Guardiola has been impressed by the Italian’s quality, mentality and leadership skills.

It’s not known yet how much they could offer Inter, but it’s clear that the Nerazzurri don’t want to sell the 26-year-old, having already rejected an approach from Newcastle United this summer.

Inter could ask City to match the fee Arsenal paid for Declan Rice, which would be around €120m. Barella is contracted to the Italian side until June 2026 and has grown into a talismanic figure since his initial arrival in 2019.
