TMW claims that Romelu Lukaku has started to reconsider the idea of joining Al Ahli as talks have stalled between Chelsea and Inter.

The 30-year-old’s loan return to the Nerazzurri did not start well this season but he began to turn things around in the latter stages of the campaign, scoring seven goals in his last seven Serie A games.

Chelsea and Inter did not include a permanence clause in Lukaku’s loan deal last year, so a new agreement must be reached to keep the striker in the Lombardy capital. Talks between the two sides have been ongoing for the last few weeks.

TMW reports that the negotiations between Chelsea and Inter are at a stalemate because the former are only interested in a definitive sale and not a temporary exit, something the latter don’t have the financial capabilities to pull off.

As such, Lukaku has allegedly started to open up to the idea of heading to Saudi Arabia, with Al Ahli making a new approach in recent days. The 30-year-old had seemingly closed the door on the offer after their initial emergence but is now reportedly reconsidering.
