Giuseppe Rossi has reportedly suggested that his stay with La Liga side Villarreal could be coming to an end this summer.

Rossi has been the subject of transfer speculation in each of the last few summer transfer markets, but is in fact coming up on five years with the Yellow Submarine in Spain.

However, the former Manchester United man, who had a spell in Serie A with Parma in 2007, has hinted that the time may have come to now leave the Valencian side.

“You never know what can happen in your career. One day you’re here and the next you can be somewhere else,” the 25-year-old told Goal.com on Monday.

“Obviously it is a nice idea, since many players want to play in the best Leagues in the world, such as La Liga, the Premier League and Serie A. As I said, in football you never know what can happen.”

Rossi has recently returned to training after recovering from knee ligament damage sustained last autumn.

“I feel better physically. After five months in the stands, I seem to be recovering my shape.

“Mentally it was very complicated, since I was used to playing week after week, but I received the full support of my club, teammates and family. I have had a lot of help.”

His return to training could mean a late push to make Cesare Prandelli’s Italy squad. On his national team Coach, Rossi only had positive things to say.

“He’s a leader and we are following. We are all on the same wavelength, he is creating a good group.

“It’s a new mentality, another way to play and we are with him. Doing things right takes some time and hopefully it will continue at Euro 2012.”

Recently, Rossi’s agent hinted that the player and his club are both ‘readiest yet’ to go their separate ways this summer, even if previously Rossi had publicly hit out at his agent for feeding such transfer speculation.
