“We’re a work in progress,” Rossi told journalists in his post-match Press conference.

“We’re a work in progress,” Rossi told journalists in his post-match Press conference.
“I’ll see the players this week, but if I have to analyse the game now, I’d say we controlled the game well. Maybe we were a bit ineffective in the final third, finishing less than we created.
“Sampdoria’s quality? I think we have that quality ourselves, but we have to grow. On Sunday too we were beaten, but if you look at the game we didn’t deserve to lose.
“I know our journey will be long and fraught with difficulty, but we have to start somewhere.”
Serie A is not known as a League with high job security for Coaches, does Rossi feel at risk of being sacked, following three defeats from three games?
“I was at risk from the first day I decided to Coach. I think a Coach should be judged for what he does, even if it’s obvious that results matter.
“You have to look at all the teams we’ve faced. We’ve had a big turnover of players, and there’s an issue with gelling together.
“We still have things to figure out, but if I look at the last two games then the team wasn’t bad.”
Mattia Destro was the Rossoblu’s big summer signing, but was notably poor in tonight’s defeat.
“The performances of individuals are secondary to that of the team,” Rossi said when asked about the striker.
“Destro could have done better, like his teammates, but I’d have said that even if he’d scored five goals.”
