The agent of Giuseppe Rossi has urged Italian clubs to ponder the capture of his client during the January transfer window.

The Italian international is currently sidelined after a recurrence of a knee ligament injury, which has kept him out for over a year, and he isn’t expected to be back in action for another four months.

The Italian international is currently sidelined after a recurrence of a knee ligament injury, which has kept him out for over a year, and he isn’t expected to be back in action for another four months.

But Federico Pastorello has told Sky Sport Italia that the Villarreal man is someone to think about when the winter window opens.

“Whoever goes for Rossi in January would be doing so with an element of risk as he will only be back in March, but he would be an investment for the future,” the representative stated.

“I would take a punt on Giuseppe with my eyes closed. If I was an ambitious President, who normally wouldn’t be in a position to sign Rossi, then I would target him.

“After all, I’m certain that Rossi will be a first team starter for the Italian national side at the 2014 World Cup.

“We’re here waiting and we’ll see what happens.”

Villarreal are ready to listen to offers for the former Parma and Manchester United forward following their relegation last season.
