Marco Rose admits “it’s difficult to overturn a 3-0 result, but you never know” after RB Salzburg lost the first leg of their Europa League clash with Napoli.

The first leg was decided by Arkadiusz Milik, Fabian Ruiz and a Jerome Onguene own goal at the Stadio San Paolo.

“Our team showed courage, but not consistently. We should’ve made more of some chances and the own goal for 3-0 rather dampened our enthusiasm for a while,” said the tactician in his Press conference.

“Against sides like Napoli, you need to be courageous for the entire 90 minutes, not in fits and starts. We have to work on our confidence, as it would’ve been important to get an away goal.

“It’s difficult to overturn a 3-0 result, but you never know. Maybe if we score early, the situation could change. It’d be important for us to put in a strong performance and show what we can do on home turf.”

Napoli will be without all their first choice centre-backs for the second leg, as Kalidou Koulibaly and Nikola Maksimovic are suspended, with Raul Albiol injured.

“We must concentrate on creating more of our scoring opportunities, not on what elements Napoli are missing.”
