Tarantino joined Roma from Bologna in 2013, working alongside club legend Bruno Conti.
Despite a Primavera title win in 2015-16, the Giallorossi have struggled to bring through any youth in recent seasons.
The 48-year-old played as a left-back for the likes of Napoli, Inter and Bologna, making over 200 Serie A appearances before his retirement in 2006.
