Jose Mourinho and Roma are on the lookout for a new full-back amidst concerns over their current options, particularly on the left-hand side according to reports on Thursday afternoon.

Italy international Leonardo Spinazzola has been ruled out of the Giallorossi’s upcoming matches in Serie A and the Europa League after sustaining a muscular injury and is out of contract at the end of the season.

Nicola Zalewski, who has regularly deputised on the left in Spinazzola’s absence is at somewhat of a crossroads himself. He is currently tied to a contract worth €300,000 per season until 2025 and Calciomercato.com reports that he could potentially be on the move if a suitable offer were to come in.

Roma would reportedly consider offers for Zalewski in the region of €12m-€15m.

Calciomercato writes that Mourinho would ideally like to have one of his current options wrapped up on a new deal before the end of the season, but options elsewhere will need to be assessed.

One name suggested as a potential replacement is Vasco de Gama’s Lucas Piton, a 23-year-old Brazilian who is in possession of an Italian passport. Calciomercato have also pointed to 30-year-old Rangers and Croatia defender Borna Barisic.
