Roma and Napoli both reportedly want to bring Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian back to Serie A.
The full-back joined the Red Devils from Torino last summer for €18m plus bonuses, but it’s not yet clear if he’s part of Jose Mourinho’s plans for the coming season.
According to Sportmediaset, the Giallorossi would like to bring him in to replace the injured Mario Rui but the cost could be prohibitive.
United are unlikely to allow Darmian to leave on loan, unless there is an obligation to buy for at least €15m.

That could open the door for Napoli, who are also looking for a full-back after a move for Inter’s Davide Santon fell through.
Unlike Roma, the Partenopei could buy Darmian outright, as they have sold Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus for €90m.
