As the authorities continue to discuss moving the date and kick-off time of the Coppa Italia Final, it’s reported China have offered to host that Roma-Lazio showdown.

The match was set for an evening kick-off on May 26 at the Stadio Olimpico, but recent problems between the rival fans put all of this in doubt.

Local authorities warned they no longer want to allow the Rome Derby in the evening due to security fears, while May 26 coincides with local elections in the city.

According to Radio Radio, a Chinese delegation has offered to host the Coppa Italia Final in Beijing.

The Bird’s Nest Stadium has already played host to several editions of the Italian Super Cup Final, which is between the Scudetto holders and winners of the Coppa Italia.

However, both clubs have already rejected the idea, as it would infuriate the supporters to play an all-Roman match for silverware in China.

Meetings continue between the clubs, local authorities and sports chiefs to find a suitable solution.
