Cagliari’s sporting director has hinted at continued interest from Roma in Davide Astori, but says plans for next year are not yet finalised.
The centre-back is set for another transfer window of speculation this summer and the Giallorossi and Lazio are the latest teams said to be ready to mount an assault.
“At the moment there is nothing concrete,” ds Nicola Salerno has looked to counter to Tuttomercatoweb.com today.
“Davide is having a great season with a final stage that I would call important.
“Roma know him very well, but at this time I do not believe that even I have come up with the final plans for next season.
“In January we said no to his sale because we could not lose another mainstay of the team after Radja Nainggolan.”
Salerno was also asked about President Massimo Cellino’s involvement, in light of his activity at Leeds United.
“This is evolving. Will he sell Cagliari? I do not know if that is possible. You have to ask him. Personally, I see him with a keen interest in Cagliari.”
