Henrikh Mkhitaryan is expected to miss both Roma’s games with Bologna and Leicester City after limping off with a thigh injury.
The Armenia international pulled up clutching the back of his thigh during this evening’s 1-1 Conference League semi-final draw at the King Power Stadium in Leicester.
Initial reports from Sky Sport Italia suggest he has suffered a thigh strain and will be out for several weeks.
“I don’t know how he’s doing, but for Miki to ask for a substitution during a game of this level, that certainly does not bode well,” Roma coach Jose Mourinho told DAZN.
The Giallorossi will play against Bologna in Serie A on Sunday, then host Leicester City for the second leg of the Conference League semi-final next Thursday evening.
This was the 43rd competitive match of the season for 33-year-old Mkhitaryan, having contributed five goals and nine assists.
“I think the game was too good to be Conference League!” 😅
José Mourinho praises his team’s performance in a close first leg against Leicester. They take a draw back to Rome 💪
