Roma are reportedly ready to make a move for Fiorentina’s Borja Valero, should they lose Miralem Pjanic in the summer.

Speculation through the season has grown that playmaker Pjanic will be the subject of a transfer bid from Paris Saint-Germain, even as the Giallorossi have been in continued talks with the player over a new contract.

Il Tempo report today that the Lupi are making plans for if they lose the 24-year-old to the Ligue 1 outfit and that predominantly these involve sourcing a replacement in Fiorentina’s Borja Valero.

The Spaniard’s form this term has tempted tentative speculation over his future, but La Viola have otherwise reportedly been in negotiations with the 29-year-old over a contract extension, encouraged by the player’s own statements on the matter too.

Fiorentina are therefore seen as reluctant to part ways with the playmaker and Il Tempo suggest negotiations this summer would have to begin at the €15m mark.
