After Manchester United announced that Jesse Lingard will be leaving the club as a free agent, inevitably rumours of a Jose Mourinho reunion at Roma emerged.

The 29-year-old has been at Old Trafford between their youth academy and senior squad for 22 years, albeit with a few loan experiences during that time.

Like Paul Pogba, Lingard has been released by Manchester United, as his contract expires on June 30 and will not be renewed.

Reports inevitably point towards Roma, where he’d reunite with fellow England internationals Tammy Abraham and Chris Smalling.

Above all, Lingard had the best period of his Manchester United career under Mourinho, playing 107 games for the coach, in which he scored 20 goals and provided 11 assists.
