“President Daniel Passarella is in Italy to negotiate the sale of Erik Lamela to Roma,” read a statement on the River Plate website.

“Erik is about to say goodbye to the club where he was born, in which he played 36 games and scored four goals.

“His sale will be negotiated by the President in person. The next few days will be crucial for the future of the player.”

It's reported River Plate secretary general Daniel Bravo and lawyer Daniel Crespo will also be present in the talks with Roma.
