Franck Ribery’s future at Fiorentina is uncertain and today he visited Bayern Munich. ‘Legends always return’.

The Viola forward’s contract at the Artemio Franchi expires this month and he has yet to decide his own future.

Fiorentina have confirmed Gennaro Gattuso will not take over as head coach of the Viola after all and the 38-year-old, while he waits to solve his own future, has visited his former club in Bavaria.

The former France international moved to Fiorentina in August 2019, ending a 12 year stint with Die Roten, who welcomed their former star back to Sabener Strasse, the home of the Bayern Munich sports centre.

“Legends always return to the Sabener,” the club wrote on Twitter. “Thanks for the visit, Franck Ribery.”

Ribery, who has struggled with injuries since his move to Serie A two years ago, has played 51 competitive games since joining Fiorentina.

The winger has contributed 10 assists and five goals in the process, but the veteran has yet to renew his deal in Florence.
