“I am very happy, as it’s been three months since I played a full game and it went well. I am trying to find my form and it was a step forward,” Ribery told Sky Sport Italia after 68 minutes on the field.

The former Bayern Munich star was given a standing ovation as he left the pitch, especially after sprinting back for a decisive tackle on Cristiano Ronaldo.

“The fans are marvellous, I came to Florence for a crowd like this, who pack out the stadium.”
