Gazzetta dello Sport reports Spalletti met Suning Group representative Steven Zhang, technical coordinator Walter Sabatini, sporting director Piero Ausilio, administrator Giovanni Gardini in Nanjing during the early hours of Sunday evening.

The newspaper explains it was there when the Coach “reiterated the need for 4-5 signings and a squad of 18-20 players capable of starting”.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri stated “they would do their best to satisfy him”, despite being hamstrung by Financial Fair Play.

It was also there that Vidal’s name cropped up, and Gazzetta believes Inter are preparing a €45m bid, which could rise to €50m, and a four-year contract worth €7m a season for the Chilean.

As for defenders, Toulouse’s Issa Diop, Olympique Lyonnais duo Mouctar Diakhaby and Emanuel Mammana, Valencia’s Aymen Abdennour and Las Palmas’ Mauricio Lemos would be on the Beneamata’s radar.

However, Gazzetta concludes Jeison Murillo’s “obvious signs of progress” could prompt Spalletti to stick with the Colombian next season.
