According to reports in France, Italy international and Roma transfer target Marco Verratti has assured he intends to remain at Paris Saint-Germain.

The midfielder’s future was increasingly uncertain after a difficult campaign, which saw some of the local fans turn against several star names, including the Italian.

There had been claims he was approached by Roma and contacted directly by coach Jose Mourinho to convince him to take a loan move with option to buy.

However, this evening L’Equipe and Actu Foot report that Verratti informed his family of the intention to continue at PSG.

The 30-year-old had also been linked with a potential move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

He only signed a new contract in December 2022 and it runs all the way to June 2026.

Azzurri star Verratti has never played in Serie A, as he was in Serie B with Pescara when snapped up for €12m by the French giants in the summer of 2012.
