Maurizio Sarri is ready to sign a two-year Chelsea contract with option for a third, as Napoli will receive €5m to release the Coach.

According to CalcioNapoli24.it, there are talks happening this evening between Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia and Partenopei director of sport Cristiano Giuntoli.

Sarri has agreed personal terms with Chelsea, a contract to June 2020 with an option to add a third season.

More importantly, Napoli are ready to accept €5m as compensation to terminate their contract with the Coach.

Although he was fired to make way for Carlo Ancelotti, he remains under contract until it is terminated by mutual consent.

The €8m release clause expired on May 31 and will be active again from next month, but Chelsea can’t wait until then and must negotiate with Napoli directly.

Also today, there were English reports that Chelsea have agreed to terminate their contract with Antonio Conte and his staff for a total cost of €11m.

Sarri will be joined by Gianfranco Zola as a team manager or director of sport, connecting the locker room to the club.
