According to the latest reports from Italy, Nicolò Zaniolo’s agent listened to the Bournemouth proposal, but confirmed he is not interested in continuing negotiations, leaving his Roma status in limbo.

The Premier League strugglers were the only side to reach the asking price set by Roma, offering a reported €35m including bonuses to buy the Italy international outright.

However, he was not particularly intrigued by the idea of Tottenham Hotspur either, so Bournemouth was not going to convince him to leave Serie A.

Tuttomercatoweb claim his agent Claudio Vigorelli met with the Cherries representatives today in Italy and listened to the proposal out of courtesy, but also reaffirmed he is not interested and will not be continuing the talks any further.

This leaves Zaniolo in limbo, because Milan already pulled out of negotiations because they consider the asking price to be too high and are only prepared to offer a loan with option to buy.

The same is true of Spurs, with or without Antonio Conte, so he could well be stuck at the Stadio Olimpico for the next six months.

His contract is due to expire in June 2024 and neither Zaniolo nor Roma seem in any way interested in extending that deal.
