According to Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, the Rossoneri accepted the offer of €25m plus €3m in various add-ons.

However, it’s a race against time to get the contract finalised ahead of the Premier League deadline, which is on Thursday at 17.00 UK time.

The Ivory Coast international currently earns €2.5m per year, but is said to be asking for a wage closer to €4m.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have seemingly proposed €2.8m and it’s a very big gap to be negotiated down in a short space of time.

Kessie is only 22 years old, but already has 27 senior caps for the Ivory Coast under his belt and 101 Serie A appearances.

Milan purchased Kessie from Atalanta in the summer of 2017, but it was a two-year loan at €8m with obligation to buy in July 2019 for another €24m.

That means the true cost wouldn’t impact on their books until this summer, which is why Kessie is on the market.

Wolves have already signed Patrick Cutrone from Milan this month for €18m plus €5m in bonuses.
