Speculation linking Fabian with Real Madrid won't go away, and now Cadena SER is claiming the negotiations didn’t end with the failed move last summer.

Although Los Blancos conceded that the price set by Napoli was too much at the time, they could be back for more in January.

The Partenopei, as per report, have asked for between €80m and €90m, but Real still haven’t given up on bringing the midfielder back to his native League.

The 23-year-old moved from Real Betis to Napoli for €30m in the summer of 2018 and has proved himself in Italy’s top division, playing 39 Serie A games so far and scoring six goals in the process.

However, Cadera SER adds Fabian did not force a move because he feels “in tune” with coach Carlo Ancelotti and because “he didn’t want to leave Italy after only one season.”

With Ancelotti’s future now unclear at the San Paolo, Madrid are said to be following the situation closely, “trying to convince the player not to renew his contract.”
