“It is a difficult time, we will take time to consider things,” said Montali on Sky Sport Italia.
“It's not good to make gut decisions in the heat of the moment. We have to intervene, surgically and accurately.
“We will make a decision by tonight or tomorrow. There is no more time to improve the situation.”
There are financial considerations too, as Roma are still paying Luciano Spalletti's former assistant manager Aurelio Andreazzoli, whose contract has not yet expired.
Another option is former player Vincenzo Montella or current director Bruno Conti.
