Inter are reportedly on the verge of signing a new deal with Italy international Nicolò Barella and are preparing a new five-year deal worth €4.5m a season.
Il Corriere dello Sport reports the midfielder is close to signing an extension with the Nerazzurri, preparing a deal until June 2026.
Inter CEO Beppe Marotta confirmed the club is close to reaching an agreement with the former Cagliari star.
The 24-year-old arrived at the club on a paid loan in July 2019, before completing a permanent transfer in September 2020 for a total of €44.5m.
Since joining the club, Barella has played in the Europa League Final in 2020 before helping the club win the Scudetto in 2020-21 under Antonio Conte.
His current deal expires in June 2024 but Inter are prepared to tie him down for a further two years and almost double his salary.
The newspaper reveals Inter are willing to give him a new deal worth €4.5m a season at San Siro and the Italy international, capped 33 times by the Azzurri, should be formalities away from signing a new deal.
