The Japan international is thought to be surplus to requirements at Old Trafford this season following Louis van Gaal’s arrival as manager and Angel Di Maria’s signing from Real Madrid.

As such, The Independent believe that the Nerazzurri are willing to take the trequartista off their hands, and are looking to Nemanja Vidic to help them in their pursuit.

The Serbian defender left United for San Siro at the start of the summer, and Walter Mazzarri’s side are hoping that the centre-back can persuade his former teammate to make the move to Italy.

The Premier League outfit are thought to be desperate to off-load Kagawa, and will listen to any acceptable offers.
