Italy are set to drop to 14th in the newest edition of the FIFA World Rankings, which will be published on Thursday.

Prior to the start of this summer’s World Cup, the Azzurri sat in ninth place but a disappointing showing in Brazil will cost them their top ten spot.

According to a report by La Repubblica, the likes of Belgium, Holland, France, Chile and Greece will all overtake the Nazionale in the official pecking order of international football.

New World Cup winners Germany will assume the number one position in place of deposed champions Spain, who will drop to seventh.

Argentina will be second, followed by Holland, Colombia and Belgium. Uruguay, the Spaniards and World Cup hosts Brazil will be sixth, seventh and eighth respectively, with Switzerland and France rounding off the top ten.
