Lazio fell to their second consecutive defeat and Edy Reja pins some of the blame on Mauro Zarate's egotism.

“We moved the ball around well, but over the 90 minutes were unable to create many clear-cut scoring opportunities,” said the Coach of their 1-0 defeat at Cesena.

“We often got to the edge of the box without really proving dangerous to their goalkeeper.”

Zarate looked furious when substituted after Reja had shouted at him for much of the game.

“Zarate is a player who always looks to run with the ball, often with an individual move that is not really a means to an end. This isn't a good thing for the team.”

The setback came days after the derby defeat and knocked Lazio off the top of the table.

“I changed five players from the last match and the newcomers did have a good game. Unfortunately this is just a slump in form.

“We must continue working calmly. We knew that the leadership was not in the original plan, but we are still in an excellent position.

“I hope we can get back on track against Napoli on Sunday.”
